I had so many activities planned for Cape Town. In fact, I had over 50 attractions to choose from thanks to Spring and Bells tours for hooking me up with an Iventure card. So I packed my suitcase with lots of cute clothes for summer ( summer is November – February in Cape Town), ready to explore. Imagine the shock I experienced when I felt brutally cold wind on my face, like what’s this?17 degrees? I didn’t come here for this please.
Cape Town is breathtaking! The city is enclosed in a dramatic mountain backdrop.Devil’s Peak and Lion’s Head on either side and Table mountain at the back. Words are not enough. Just breathing the air was therapeutic for me after waking up at 5am for months and facing Lagos traffic almost everyday.
I stayed in doors on the first day, went for a meal at a cafe down the road and that was it. On day 2, I went to the Two Oceans Aquarium and enjoyed the luxury of a priority entry thanks to my Iventure card.
The aquarium was quite busy as there were a lot of school children on excursion that day but i still enjoyed my time there, So much that i went round twice. There’s a lot more to see and do.I went back home(Air bnd) and came back to V&A Waterfront just in time for the sunset boat cruise which departed at 6:30pm and lasted for an hour . It was a lovely experience. The crew on the esperance were very friendly and funny too. We sailed towards Milnerton Lighthouse and got an amazing view of Table mountain from the boat, and a glass of bubbly to make the evening perfect hahahaa. My tip for the ladies who intend to go on this cruise would be not to wear a skirt or dress as it got really windy .
Then God said, “Let the waters swarm with fish and other life. Let the skies be filled with birds of every kind.So God created great sea creatures and every living thing that scurries and swarms in the water, and every sort of bird–each producing offspring of the same kind. And God saw that it was good.”Genesis 1:20-21 New Living Translation
PS: Details of the rest of my trip will be included in my next post.
