Things To Do In Lagos

Lagos is the largest city in Nigeria with a growing population of 21 million people. It is known for is vibrant night life, numerous beaches, and traffic jam.  Lagos is stressful! So i’m constantly looking for things to do to relax. I’ve put together a list of things to do in Lagos .Enjoy! 🙂

There aren’t a lot of arcades in Lagos especially arcades that close at 1AM so this is a welcome change. The minimum you can spend on games is 5,000 Naira. They’re open for business from 12pm. The food was meh but the cocktails were nice. There’s a lot of space to park on the premises. However, street lighting is horrible.

If you’re into ecotourism, this is the place for you. It is 78 acres of greenery with a lot of monkeys. They say there are other animals there but due to too many humans around the animals go out of sight. Well I’ve been there twice and I’ve only seen monkeys, peacocks,a tortoise and a baby crocodile. Other features are the 401-meter long canopy walkway (i think this is the main attraction here), a tree house and a family park that’s ideal for picnics.

I believe that art is an important aspect of civilization and history but most people think it’s for the elite class of the society. At Nike’s art gallery, i discovered that there is something everyone can relate too, from the moment i walked through the gate, i was captivated by the art work outside, especially the tyres that were recycled into artwork. Admission is free so check it out, you never know. You just might like it. There are two floors of artwork to go through so make sure you have a lot of time on your hands.

Apart from travel, going to the theater has a very therapeutic effect on me. This isn’t very popular in Lagos but if you are looking for something different i think you should go to Terra Kulture or The Musical Society of Nigeria( Muson Centre).

Terra Kulture

Lagos is know for its  aquatic splendor and numerous beaches. Over the Easter holiday, i was privileged to visit la campagne tropicana. This beach resort is regarded as one of the best in Lagos, with its numerous palm trees and African themed hospitality. They also claim to have the longest pool in the world. It was very peaceful and beautiful here.

Psalm 104:24 O LORD, what a variety of things you have made! In wisdom you have made them all. The earth is full of your creatures.(New Living Translation)
